“I’ve been on both sides of the mental health system and it’s clear that something is lacking. Even with modern technology, it’s been difficult finding resources for myself. I want everyone to have a better experience than I did, which means we need to advocate for others as well as ourselves.”
-Ilia Fernandez, Founder/CEO
Our Vision
The Mental Health Society of Greater Victoria sees the need for change from firsthand experiences of its volunteers and community members. We aim to foster a community that speaks openly about mental health as its something we all have and need to care for. As a starting point for people new to the system, we will create connections while serving as a central hub for people to start from. Through free education, training, and resource navigation, Victoria will become better equipped to care for each other’s mental health.
